FASoS students receive thesis prizes during Dies Natalis 2018

During the annual Dies Natalis (anniversary celebration) of Maastricht University on 26 January 2018, four FASoS students received a prize for their bachelor’s/master’s thesis.

In the morning, the prizes for the best bachelor’s theses of 2017 were awarded.

The bachelor’s students wrote the following theses:

  • Ellen Morrell (Bachelor Arts and Culture): ‘A Comparative Analysis of the Adoption of Transparency as a Journalistic Norm in the United Kingdom’s Digital New’. Supervisor: Dr. Nico Randeraad.
  • Marie Peffenköver (Bachelor European Studies): ‘Re-Writing the Winner Paradigm. Indonesian Decolonization, Transnationalizing Policy Frames and Globalizing the Local’. Supervisor: Ass. Prof. Pablo Del Hierro.

The master’s students who received top marks for their final thesis in 2017 were awarded with the Student Award 2017 during the academic ceremony in the afternoon.

The master’s students wrote the following theses:

  • Lea Beiermann (Research Master Cultures of Arts, Science and Technology) : ‘Microscoptical Science’. Supervisor: Dr. Raf de Bont.
  • Robin Schormans (Master European Studies on Society, Science and Technology): ‘Conscious choice? A dramaturgical inquiry into the creation and negotiation of credibility surrounding the Dutch choices’. Supervisor: Dr. Jens Lachmund.
