UM researcher Katie Kuschminder of the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance (MGSoG) submitted one of the proposals that was awarded an RDF grant: Gendering Migration: Women and Girls Experiences of Gender-based discrimination, abuse and violence across migratory stages. Maastricht University is partnered in the project by the University of Bristol, University of Cape Town, University of Massachusetts Amherst, National Cheng Kung University and The University of Western Australia.

Two other proposals submitted by UM which have not been awarded an RDF grant will nevertheless receive a modest start-up contribution from UM: Body Image and Acceptance of Cosmetic Surgery in China and the West by Sandra Mulkens (FHML / FPN) and Natural Cultures as a Response to Global Challenges by Leonie Cornips (FASoS). Several WUN partners are also involved in these two proposals.
